To Rate Is Great!

3_starsSince XMod 5.0 we have been able to add ratings to our templates.

In this Web 2.0 world your users expect to be able to rate and comment on any content on your site.

The big drawback for me was the fact that although you could display the ratings in your list templates you could not filter (e.g. show only 5 star listings) or sort on them (e.g. sort your listing from high to low rating).

I discovered that this doesn’t work on IE7, thanks to Will Strohl it now does.

Have you noticed when you visit some websites an orange RSS icon appears in the address bar indicating that there are RSS feeds available?  That’s RSS Auto-Discovery.

Trawling the Deep Web - The XMod Way

image The deep Web (also called Deepnet, the invisible Web, or the hidden Web) refers to World Wide Web content that is not part of the surface Web, which is indexed by search engines.

It is estimated that the deep Web is several orders of magnitude larger than the surface Web.

Dynamic content e.g. your XMod data resides in the deep web.
