I see that you have a generic view record count control. Is there a way this can be modified to display to a registered user how many times they have viewed a record's detail view?

My Question is regarding the validation of Fileupload control.How to make a file upload control as mandatory, the form should not be submitted untill the file uploaded.I watn user to upload the file if the user click on submit button without uploading the file it should give some message like "Please Upload file to continue" .IT's very urgent so please suggest me I am using the fatgeorge fileupload 3.2.

What is the latest version of the module syndication?

I have a website with dnn 04.09.04 and syndication 1.4 supposedly that XMOD version I have?

The task "fatgeorge.Syndication.xRss, fatgeorge.Syndication" is taking a long time and still does not finish the play! when I say long been the order of 20000x more.

I cannot get the required attribute to work I have a client that needs to require 3 of 5 images be required. But even though the documentation states that there is a required attribute, it does not work. Can you help?

Hi,

I'm getting rather frustrated with the built-in RSS syndication in DNN and I was wondering whether your Syndication for Xmod would meet our requirements?
I've created several pages with an article on each with the standard Text/HTML module. I've then ticked the 'Allow Syndicate?' box under Page Settings for each page. This only which only gives me single articles. When I import these feeds into a desktop feed reader (Fresh or Sharefire), each feed has the same title (ie - the portal name) and of course shows only one article at a time.

If we went down the XMod route to create a simple article manager, could we use your module to:

Create several feed categories/sections on the same portal/site, so that I have several feeds all with multiple articles/pages in them. The titles of these categories/sections should show up in the feed reader.
Choose how much of the article is shown in the feed (We need it to be the whole article, not a summary or a word limited length)

We're using DNN version 5.1 and XMod version 5.01.

cannot get XMOD RSS to work! :: Submitted: 14 May 2009

Bear with me.... very frustrated!

I simply cannot get the schedule for the XMOD RSS package to work. It takes forever to try and run, and eventually fails with the message "getFeed: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow" in the schedule notes.

I have installed all the patches, done everything by the book, lodged help requests, and nada. Please help if you can!

I cannot get the caption to come up, it just shows Test (this was a previous record). All images I upload use the Test caption. Also the resize image is not working i.e. the larger image is the same size as the thumbnail. Please help.

Does anybody know a way to do it?

Can I customize ATX to fit my own needs? I consider myself an XMod Expert using it for years now.

I have an immediate need for an ATX functionality to integrate with an Active Social Site. I would need two Category Type Selections. One for Geography and One for Product Type. Is this doable?

Let me know what you think and what all I get with ATX.

Hello,

I've just installed the Syndication module for XMod. I replaced the file upload to be XMod's fileupload. Other than that, I've followed the insructions given. The RSS feed works and is displaying the feed and links properly to each XMod detail page, but there are two problems.

1. In the feed, the "Item Description" is displaying the description text of the first feed item on all other feed items, even though the correct titles for each item feed are being displayed.

2. The "Description more text" link in the feed repeats the previous "Description more text" link and it's own link. - e.g. The first item in the feed has "...more" as the "Description more text". It links to Xmod Item 1. The second item in the feed has "...more...more" where the first "...more" links to Xmod Item 1 AND the second "...more" links to XMod Item 2. This pattern repeats for each item, making the "...more" link unusable since each segment goes to a different XMod Item page.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I've been trying to query Xmod data outside of xmod and when I select the fileupload data as such:

I get the full name and location like this:-

Greetings;

I'm trying to find a way in Xmod to allow a user submitting a record to select which security roles can view that record. Is there some form of userrole label I can put on a form?

Example:
User#1 creates record from form, but only certain people can view that record based on the roles User#1 selects when entering the data for that record.

When user#2 views that record in a list view, if they are in one of the roles specified by user#1, then the record that User#1 entered is viewable in the list, if not then no records are displayed.

Anyone know how this can be accomplished?

Does the file upload control have the capability of a dynamic upload directory? I have an Xmod form where I am allowing multiple companies upload documents. I would like to the upload control to put the each company's files in a separate folder. All of Company A's files would go into a folder called Company A. All of Company B's files would go into a folder called Company B.

Is this possible?

I've built a database of articles consisting of .pdf files.

I'd like a thumbnail of each PDF to be created when the file is uploaded. i.e. the front page of each document is converted into a thumbnail and stored as are image thumbs.

Any chance this might be available in a future release?

I've been using your xmod file upload control for some time and it works well.

I have a little application which stores an uploaded image and caption and displays the images

in various templates around a site.

Problem is I have an archive of shots I want to upload but this takes forever doing one at a time in the xmod interface. I want to upload 500 or so with ftp and then edit the captions later (or upload them with captions in text file).

Ideally I want to upload all the images into a directory and then import a comma delimited file with all the captions and image names.

Do you have any ideas how I might do this? It could save me a lot of time.

We're using a very simple JQuery functionality inside a XMod template. It does work correctly but we get the action menu missing. I guess there's some king of javascript conflict between JQuery and DNN Core javascript.

Okay, I absolutely know this has to be "do able" because if I'm putting information into a form, then users should be able to filter based on that information as long as the values are the same in each record.

...and I'm getting frustrated because I can't figure out how!!!

Here's the deal:

I have a checkbox list in my Xmod form with four values. "Value 1" "Value 2" "Value 3" and "Value 4"

A single record may have "Value 1" and "Value 3" checked.

How do I provide users with these same checkboxes where they can select to return only records that are matches to "Value 1" and/or "Value 2" and/or "Value 3" and/or "Value 4"?

Help, please-- I'm stuck, and this is key to my project... and I admit it, I'm not a programmer by trade, so I'm feeling my way through this...

Essentially, it renders a drop-down list with each county in WV and a corresponding email to send it to. The email gets sent to the right person; however, when I go to display the selected county to the email recipient and show it in the template I use this code:

Using this should look at the item from the list that was selected and display the corresponding label (i.e. name of the county they selected), but because some email addresses are associated with multiple counties, the output simply looks at the selected value and finds the first item that matches it and displays that label. In other words, if my email is listed for both Boone County and Hardy County, it will always display Boone County as that is the first one it comes to.

Do you know of any way to fix this and make it work the way that it should? … or do you know where I can find the answer to how fix or work around it?

I'm using the latest version of fatgeorge file upload and using it to load images on an item.

Allthough 95% of the records have images, the ones that don't end up showing broken image icons (because there isn't any image). How do you handle mixed records where some have images, and some don't?
